A group of five painted rocks, four by Jack Youngerman, and the largest one on a small plinth by Betty Parsons.

From July 30 to August 30, 2021, The Drawing Room is pleased to present "Betty Parsons & Jack Youngerman: Paintings, Sculpture & Works on Paper, 1950 - 1982".

 

Betty Parsons (1900–1982) and Jack Youngerman (1926-2020) first met in Paris in 1956. Inspired by a visit to his studio, Parsons encouraged Youngerman to move to New York and soon after invited him to show at her eponymous gallery. This exhibition of paintings, sculpture and works on paper created between 1950 and 1981 highlights affinities in their practices.
