Painting Place II: Lois Dodd • Sheridan Lord • Jane Wilson
From September 4 through October 26, The Drawing Room is please to present the follow-up to PAINTING PLACE I, PAINTING PLACE II. Exhibiting work from the same notable private collection, the show focuses on three influential figurative 20th-century American painters: Lois Dodd, Sheridan Lord, and Jane Wilson.
Since the late 19th century, artists have migrated to the Eastern tip of Long Island, retreating from the city to draw inspiration from the region’s open space and dramatic coastline, and in the mid 20th century, a second wave of artists established a close knit community.
