Recognized for its thoughtfully curated exhibition program, The Drawing Room is a longstanding destination for discerning collectors, curators and designers. Since 2004, the gallery has specialized in postwar and contemporary artists associated with Eastern Long Island’s legendary cultural history. Over the past two decades, solo and group exhibitions have spotlighted influential figures from earlier generations as well as contemporary artists with studio practices in the community today.
Exhibitions have featured late artists Stephen Antonakos, Jennifer Bartlett, Robert Dash, Jane Freilicher, Vincent Longo, Sheridan Lord, Costantino Nivola, Ruth Nivola, Betty Parsons, Fairfield Porter, Dorothy Cole Ruddick, Alan Shields, Sasson Soffer, Saul Steinberg, Racelle Strick, Jane Wilson, Albert York, Jack Youngerman and Joe Zucker.
Contemporary artists presented include John Alexander, Mary Ellen Bartley, Jack Ceglic, Vija Celmins, Lois Dodd, Mats Gustafson, Robert Harms, Alice Hope, Bryan Hunt, John Iversen, Mel Kendrick, Laurie Lambrecht, Michael Light, Kathryn Lynch, Aya Miyatake, Adrian Nivola, Pat Pickett, Toni Ross, Michelle Stuart, John Torreano and Fiona Waterstreet.

The gallery was founded in 2004 by Emily Goldstein & Victoria Munroe. In 2025, Emily assumed sole leadership. The founding partners continue to collaborate on projects involving Costantino Nivola, Ruth Nivola and Saul Steinberg.

Trained in art history at Vassar College and CUNY Graduate Center, Emily offers consultations to private collectors and estates through the platform, Emily Goldstein Curatorial Projects. Private studio visits are offered to expand modes of engagement and provide windows on the artistic process.
Emily is also a principal of Caplan Rose, a bespoke travel company that leads private cultural tours focused on gardens, art and architecture.
